WHAT OUR GUESTS HAD TO SAY

Thank you for your kind words.

Wonderful in every way, from the warm welcome of our hostess to the beautiful surroundings to the best oven-baked French toast ever! Downtown is within walking distance, and even though it is quaint it boasts, theatres, restaurants, antique shops, beaches, parks, museums, and a restored movie house that houses an amazing replica of the Titanic as well as many other displays of mechanical devices from the past. We so enjoyed our stay! Can’t wait to return in the summer. That was the only drawback: we were there in the coldest weather of the winter!

From California and looking for a Michigan experience. Heather House seemed to fit the bill so we booked 6mos in advance. Ended up filling the place with Michigan relatives. The experience exceeded our expectations. Heather House has been restored and furnished to display the decorative essence of Victorian opulence with modern comforts. Its perfect view of the river coincided with gourmet breakfasts by the new owner, Helen, who has a catering background. Every nook and cranny was an artistic surprise! We will certainly return!

An absolutely gorgeous old home that has been well loved and cared for by recent B&B owners. The detail inside and outside is exquisite. Best of all, it is a comfortable, welcoming home. Thank you to Helen for a most delicious breakfast, for making us feel welcome and for graciously accommodating to our needs as long haul tourists. We will be back. This is now our go to getaway place. Instead of driving 4 hours to get up north like we used to do, we can be relaxing at the Heather House in a hour. Its amazing that you can travel back in time 133 years in just a little over a hour.

Enchanting! Excellent food & service. 6 totally different rooms, each with a different bathroom, stain glass & all the goodies. Love that each one has a different porch. The gardens are amazing, I love sitting on the porch and watching the freighters travel down the St. Clair River. The house is adorned with chandeliers, antiques, original stained glass and woodwork.

We stayed at the Heather House on our way across the country—riding bicycles from coast to coast. Helen and Mark Lally had recently purchased this beautifully restored Victorian home turned B&B. They are the perfect hosts. The rooms are amazing! Helen is the perfect hostess. I cannot say enough about this place. If you are ever in the area, you must stop by. You will be taken in (and taken back in time) as you experience this tremendous home and the wonderful new owners.

I have stayed at the Heather House 4-5 times in the past 15+years when going back to high school reunions in nearby Algonac. The former owners, the Bokrams, were always superb hosts and the stay exceptional. I’m pleased to report that nothing has changed with the new owners, Helen and Mark Lally. Beautiful and well-kept rooms, gracious full breakfast, extraordinary views and location on the St.Clair River, and very friendly and helpful hosts. I look forward to my return next year. The Heather House is perfect for a romantic stay for 2, it is perfect for a group of friends getting together, it is perfect for family reunions, Mother/Daughter sleepovers, Weddings, Showers, and Business Seminars. It is perfect for a single person who justs needs some time alone. In summary”Its Perfect”
